GPAT -GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST

GPAT

  • GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST (GPAT) is a national level entrance examination for entry into M.Pharm programmes.
  • Till 2018, it was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
  • The Test will now be conducted by the NTA.
  • This test facilitates institutions to select suitable Pharmacy graduates for admission into the Masters (M.Pharm) program.
  • The GPAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session.
  • The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.
  • A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of Pharmacy are also given on the basis of the GPAT score.

Preparation Strategy

  • First of all, go through the official syllabus of GPAT
  • Start preparation from minor subjects just to clear your concepts (No need to study deep)
  • Minor subjects are :
              - Human anatomy & physiology
              - Pathophysiology
              - Biochemistry
              - Inorganic Chemistry
              - Microbiology
              - Biotechnology etc...

  • When all the concepts are clear move forward on Major subjects such as :
             - Pharmaceutics
             - Pharmacology
             - Pharmaceutical chemistry
             - Pharmaceutical Analysis
             - Pharmacognosy etc...

  • Around 100-110 questions are from major subjects and around 15-25 questions are from minor subjects. So give more concentration to major subjects.
  • While preparing for exam go through previous year question papers, so that you will understand the pattern of questions asked and from which topic questions are more asked.
  • If you want to qualify GPAT with a good rank you should not skip minor subjects. Because if you see the GPAT 2020 question paper more questions were from minor subjects.
  • Give at least 2 hours a daily for study
  • Don't give more than 1 month for minor subjects
  • Keep 1 month before the exam, only for revision purposes.
  • Practice as many as possible MCQ's
  • By following the schedule only 5-6 months are sufficient for study to qualify.
  • Be calm and keep your mind neutral.
                                                   BEST OF LUCK 🤞
